Hi everyone,
Well 2016 certainly started with a bang, with what was possibly the busiest cocktail party for quite some time. I am ever so sad to have missed it with an unavoidable hospital visit, but I have heard it was a roaring success so well done everyone! It is also an absolute pleasure to see our 125th anniversary flag flying proudly from the flagpole. It is certainly the start of a very exciting year!
The Captains, Paula Crabtree and Sir Peter Simpson, drove in to their captaincies. Great job guys, congratulations and we greatly look forward to working with you. Jeff Pickering guessed Peter's drive correctly and Liz Bullock guessed Paula's. Very well done both.
It was also announced that our new vice captain is......the wonderful
Clive Mackenzie, we are so pleased for you Clive, brilliant news.

Paul also did his usual speech, complete with naughty joke, and I have been told it was well received! Thanks Paul for being the best Head Pro ever and my wonderful hubby.
Over to Mr M!
Our Lady Captain,
Paula Crabtree, 'pulled out of the hat' the winner of the
FREE Lessons for a Year Draw. I am pleased to announce that one of our new members,
Des Gulliford, was the lucky winner. Congratulations go to Des, who will be meeting with me very soon to discuss the plan of action and luckily for you guys, you can tune in to see the progress!
The best plan of attack with any pupil of mine is to play a competitive nine holes, so that I can get a feel for each department of their game. It also allows me to see how a player plays under pressure, shows potential gaps in the mental game followed by an informal chat in the clubhouse. I can't wait to help Des improve his game!
Look out for the first installment.
Paul So what's next for the academy?
We are taking part in the Sportarray learning disability workshop in Weston next week, along with working in two special schools in the next fortnight - we can't wait! I am also in the process of formulating a half year report for the trust who so generously donated a lump sum to allow us to continue our work with disabled children. I am truly grateful for this help - it means we can provide more sessions and teach more disabled children, which we absolutely love doing.
Apart from that, the academy is running its annual Easter Tri Golf and egg hunt event. This will be held on
Sunday, 27 March and costs
£10 to include one hour tri golf, sweeties and an Easter egg hunt, with a visit from the Easter Bunny (no prizes for guessing who is going in the bunny suit ha ha)! To book a place please call the pro shop on 01275 393031 or email
bristolandcliftonproshop@gmail.com.
Our new junior coaching schedule is available, detailing our coaching for 2016. Copies are available on the junior noticeboard or contact us directly and we can email them to you.

Finally I would like to thank everyone who gave us a Christmas card or present - we were absolutely spoilt rotten and I wanted you to know we are so very grateful to work with you all.
Here's to the wonderful members we have and to our 125th anniversary year at B&C!
