Hi everyone,
And still it pours........................
So what's been happening this week?
Saturday saw some of the worst weather we've had recently - heavy rain and strong winds battered our brave hearted competitors. Some guys played, some stayed in the clubhouse, but all agreed it was a fairly rough experience. Nonetheless we had a super duper winner of Division 1 in the form of Andrew Smith with 41 points, with Richard Bromilow in second place with 38 points and Jack Partridge in third with 34 points. The winner of division 2 was Iain Black with 39 points, with Mel Burton's 38 points in second place and David Marval's 35 points in third. Well done to everyone who played, and our congratulations to the worthy winners.

Paul spent a most enjoyable evening at the Gentlemen's Dinner last Friday, with thanks to Sir Peter for his very kind invite. The entertainment and food were superb, and it was a pleasure to be there. Guests enjoyed a Chicken and Pistachio Terrine to start, with a main course of Lamb Shank and dessert of Vanilla Pannacotta, followed by coffee and mints. I am sure everyone who attended enjoyed it as much as Paul.
This week we had a visit from Richard Nelsey, South West Sales Manager for Titleist, and Ben Hiscox, Titleist's Custom Fitting Specialist, for an in depth training session on the new models of Titleist wedges, golf balls and Scotty Cameron putters.
The Academy staff took some time out at the driving range for demonstration and trial purposes, and then came back to the pro shop for a presentation on golf balls. It is really important that, as a pro shop team, we keep informed of new developments, product features and benefits and competitive pricing structures. That way we keep knowledgeable and can offer a better service to our customers.
The new Titleist Vokey SM6 is on the way, we have new golf balls in stock, including the softest golf balls ever - The DT Trusoft - and so much more.
Exciting times ahead!
This week also saw us approached by a school in Radstock to coach in for term 5 - how exciting! We will pack up our car with the equipment and head on down after Easter.
The school is called Fosseway and is an Ofsted outstanding education provision.
They have secured external sports provision for term 4 but wanted something different for term 5.....in steps the PMGA! More on this after we have been to coach there.
Paul has also been able this week to secure a team for the
junior Alexander Trophy over at Long Ashton Golf Club soon. Our three wonderful participants will be
Harry Kennedy, Finn Ellis and
Tom Sproull. Well done Paul, and thanks to Sarah, Mark, Rob, Eve and Becky for lending us their awesome lads to go into battle!
We look forward to hearing how you all got on and we are all rooting for you here in the Paul Mitchell Golf Academy.
This week Luke has been planning his Junior Easter Camps, to take place between April 4th-8th. There'll be more on this to come next week.
These are brill for all juniors, and really good for working parents as they last all day and are well planned and fulfilling.
Please ask the Academy staff for more details and to reserve your child's place, or

We are also running our
PMGA Easter Tri Golf and Egg Hunt on
Sunday, 27 March, 11am - 12.30pm with golf coaching, treasure hunt and Easter treats.
The cost is
£11.50 per child to include everything, and
Jayne Grocock, House Manager, is also running an Easter Lunch afterwards which you can book and pay for through the catering team.
This would make for such a nice family Easter Sunday - don't delay, book today!
Call us on 01275 393031 or email us at
bristolandcliftonproshop@gmail.com for more details or to reserve a place.
All welcome! These photos show what fun the pro shop team had last year.
The Academy lads also finished their last school coaching session at New Siblands this week. We have as a team made good friends and contacts through our inclusion work and we are very proud of helping those who need us.
Click here for the report of the academy sessions (provided by the PE teacher
Jane Hawkes, who took all the photos whilst the staff coached the pupils).
Finally our
Get into Golf beginner's course starts again in April. Five sessions for just
£25! Please ask us for details of the sessions or look at the Get into Golf website and search for the Paul Mitchell Golf Academy.
On that note, have a wonderful week!
