Hi everyone,
This week's newsletter features more information on AimPoint training as well as more exciting developments from the PMGA. Onwards...!
This week saw no Saturday competition, so very little to report by way of results.
The Ladies played in their Semi Texas Scramble last week, with the winners being Ali Vyas, Claire Fairman, Gerry Badger and Karen Smith. Many congratulations to you all!
Unfortunately it rained cats and dogs on 1st March and the Ladies' Bowmaker did not go ahead as planned, so we look forward to the following competitions on the way:
Saturday, 5 March - Monthly Stableford (start sheet online booking)
Tuesday, 8 March - Ladies V Seniors (shotgun start 9am)
Saturday, 12 March - not a comp but it's the Jazz and supper evening here at B&C (sign up sheet in spike bar)
So plenty to look forward to!
This week I would like to hand over to my lovely assistant Andy, for he has created a thing of beauty to share with you!
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share something with you that I've been working on for the past few weeks. My new website www.andymcgreevy.com, (add it to your favourites!). It's a simple page that just gives a little background about what I do and allows you to follow my Twitter and Instagram accounts as well as contact me about lessons or gym training for golf. Hopefully I'll be adding more to it such as blog posts, tips and exercise ideas as my gym work continues to grow.
I'm also running another course of beginner group lessons starting April 6th and running every Wednesday at 6pm until May 4th. These groups proved to be very popular last year and we even managed to recruit some new members, so if you know anyone interested in getting started or who just wants to give it a go please let them know and they can contact the shop via the usual phone or email.
Andy
As we are firmly living in an age of social media, it is great to see our staff building some exciting plans for the future. We are linking the websites together with the B&C and paulmitchellpga.co.uk websites, which can only promote strength as a group. Lovely!
On that note, don't forget there are three twitter accounts to follow! @PaulMitchGolf, @BCCOURSE and @BCClubhousefood. Follow these to gain access to the course conditions, current food events and of course, all things academy wise!
What else has been happening at the Academy?
This week sees our pre-Easter end of winter season final reductions come into play. All of our sale winter items are now at rock bottom prices. As it's now March (woo hoo) we are soon expecting our spring/summer clothing collections, so to make space we have to sell off our winter items. Please have a look in store and in the changing rooms for bargains aplenty!
Bag Trade In
Throughout the month of March we are holding a fantastic trade in offer with Motocaddy where we will give you £20 OFF a brand new Motocaddy bag when you trade in your old bag, regardless of its age, brand or condition.
This will be available throughout March while our stocks last, so make sure you trade in that old, weather-beaten bag, and get your hands on a brand new one!
Titleist 4 for 3 ball offer As with last year, we are offering our brilliant pre season starter offer where you can buy 3 dozen Titleist Pro V1 balls and get a 4th dozen absolutely
FREE. If this wasn't enough, you can also get your own personalised message on your balls
FREE of charge, so a great way to kick off the season.

We are also offering
15% OFF men's winter wear (excluding Glenmuir crested sweaters) so don't delay, as it's still pretty cold out there!
New items from Nike have started to come in - this year's trend is for denim effect, and these lovely bags from Nike encapsulate both fashion and function. Retailing at just
£105 for the denim effect Nike Sport Cart IV bag, and the sport lite carry II bag at a mere
£80, these are perfect for a fresh look for 2016.

Finally, I would like to invite all the lovely Ladies at B&C to come to our Grand Unveiling of the new spring/summer attire. Instead of the fashion show, we will be displaying all the new Ladies' clothing, along with
FREE gifts, chocs and a glass of wine, on 29th March. Come along and enjoy a relaxed morning seeing the new stock and enjoying a glass of vino whilst trying things on in our new pro shop changing area! Bring a friend - we will have lots of lovely Ladies' Golf Clothing from top brands such as Glenmuir and Under Armour and many more! There's even matching socks (I am way apoplectic!)
Reminder time! Don't forget - Aimpoint is coming to The PMGA soon. This is the world's number one greens reading system.

Over to Paul with some more information
Putting can equate to up to half of the shots you take in a round of golf and making an improvement in this area can really have a huge benefit on your game.
Alongside regular putting coaching and correct putter fitting, it's worth looking at ways to reduce the odd shot or two from your medal score and AimPoint can do just that. AimPoint is a reasonably new green reading technique that many of the top professionals and club players are turning to. Not only does AimPoint help you to calibrate the speed of a putt and accurately gauge the amount of break, it allows you to read a putt within 10 seconds and avoid slow play.
Oliver Leett is a Level 2 Certified AimPoint Express Coach who is visiting the club on
Saturday, 21 May at 3pm for a two hour session. All attendees will be able to use the AimPoint Express techniques by the end of this session which costs just
£99. The group size is limited to just six and I have already sold a couple of places. If you were interested in joining the group then please sign up as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.

PaulAlso don't forget - Luke is running his ever popular
Easter Junior Golf Camp for 2016. This is a week of junior activities, covering all aspects of the game, with prizes and lots of fun along the way. This year Luke will be running this between 4-8th April, with food provided at an extra cost if necessary. We already have four of the eight spots reserved, so if you would like to come, please let the pro shop know on 01275 393031or email
bristolandcliftonproshop@gmail.com.
Also don't forget the
Easter Tri Golf and egg hunt for tiny tots on 27th March, ask for more details or to book.
Lastly I would like to thank
Nansi Mann for her lovely cake - it was such a lovely surprise and worked perfectly as Cam's birthday cake. Cam was 13 on Wednesday, 2 March (how time flies!) and he loves a good cake! I would also like to thank
Mary and
Roger Webley for their very kind gift - Cam was soooo excited and didn't waste a minute chowing down on them! You guys are all super wonderful - thank you.
So on that note I bid thee farewell and have a great week!
Caren, Paul, Luke and
Andy
