Hello all,
The days are getting chillier by the minute, so let our weekly news offering warm the cockles of your heart.
Last weekend's Ladies' Stableford on Saturday was won by Sam Hill, great golf Sam.
The Ladies then played in the Semi Texas Scramble last Tuesday. The winning side were Paula Crabtree, Barbara Wrigley, Sandra Gibbs and Alyson Matthews. Well done Ladies. In second place were Paula Keaney, Claire Fairman, Vicky Reed and Alison Leatt. Many congratulations to you all.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank
Peter and
Jane Simpson for inviting us to what was a most enjoyable Captain's Dinner on Friday night. The whole evening went so very well and we had a great time, so thank you Peter (you do spoil us). The food was great, the restaurant looked magnificent, the entertainment from the silver foxes had me in stitches as well as in awe of their musical skills. There was a most beautiful cake made by
Mrs Blake, (Mike's wife) and the whole ambience was perfect. Seriously what a super evening.

On that note, let's transfer to the Pro Shop for a slice of the weekly action.
It's been a relatively quiet week this week for us, as we are coming to the end of winter activity and starting to focus on winter and Christmas gifts. This week I had fun making and displaying our annual gift idea display.
Last year, if some of you can remember, I made a line of Christmas Puddings on our pro shop windows to give you all some suggestions for Christmas golfing goodies for your loved ones. I also called it Pudding Lane, which I didn't realise at the time is where the Great Fire of London started.
This year, so as not to risk any incendiary difficulties, I called our little gift idea display the
Bauble Blast and you can see it on our windows as you walk past the shop. I hope it gives you some inspiration.
We have been extremely busy recently with custom fitting and would like to hand over to Paul to tell you all why fitting is the way forward and also a report on Chris' next tournaments:
It's the final event of the year on the Race to Dubai at Jumeriah Estates for the DP World Tour Championships and Chris Wood will be keen to finish the season on a high. He currently lies ninth in the order of merit, and a good week could see a nice Christmas bonus arrive in his bank account with the top ten players receiving a share of a bonus five million euro.
Danny Willett and Justin Rose have pulled out of the World Cup and Chris has kindly taken up the invitation to represent England alongside Andy Sullivan in Australia. The event starts next week and Chris is excited to compete and will go straight from Dubai to down under.
After Alex Noren's phenomenal 4th win of the season in South Africa, the Race to Dubai is hotting up and it's been a fantastic year for Callaway Golf. The top three players on the Race to Dubai are all Callaway ambassadors and it just shows what a wonderful year Callaway have had with not just the woods and irons but with Odyssey putters.
The new XR Steelhead and Big Bertha Fusion irons are fantastically easy to use and are proving to be a real hit during fittings. The XR and Fusion drivers and fairways have won seventeen times on tour this year and we are finding that they are not only long but they also fly incredibly straight.
Looking for a new set for Christmas? Look no further than Callaway.

I have also been busy with another project, which will be a really exciting time for us as we are always willing to help others. We are actually looking to do some gentle tri golf coaching for the patients and their families at a local hospice. At the moment, I have made the first approach and as we have already had some of the truly inspiring and incredibly brave children visit us here using the driving range. I really want to build on this and give some very special kids happy memories to keep.
On that note, have a great week - keep warm and keep safe
