Hi everyone, 

As usual it's still cold but I bought some daffodils this week so I can at least pretend it's Spring!


 

The Ladies' Competition last Tuesday was a Hi/Med/Lo Bowmaker Stableford. The winning team was led by our fabulous Ladies' Captain Sarah Cheetham and also consisted Joan Rowe and Vicky Reed. In second place was Jane Davidson, Claire Fairman and Barbara Jeffcott. Well done Ladies! 

Seniors took on the Stableford on the newly measured and documented blue course. The winner was Paul Keith (35 points) with Terry Beauchamp in second place (34 points). Well done to you all. A new blue course record was set so well done to Paul Keith.

This week I set my two awesome assistants a task - to do a joint instructional which is informative but fun. As they are both so brill, I give you their offering - a video of how to play the 15th hole at Bristol & Clifton Golf Club. Sit back for a few minutes and enjoy!

This week Nick and I decided to head out on the course to give you an insight into how to play the classic risk and reward hole that is the 15th. This hole looks straightforward on paper. However, even when playing it safe on here you still need to be able to execute some tricky shots as Nick will demonstrate. 

I decided to show what needs to be considered when 'having a go' on this hole and trying to drive the green. This is certainly a risky strategy as the target is pretty small and any chip or pitch around this sloping green can be very tricky should you miss with your tee shot. 

We hope this video helps you when playing this hole and coming up with a strategy. We'll be heading out onto the course again, so if there's a certain hole or shot you'd like us to cover please let us know either by commenting on the video or contacting the pro shop. Enjoy! Andy and Nick
