Hi everyone,
It's been a busy week of results and other golf club news, so I'm back and ready to report.
The ladies played in the winter individual eclectic over the colder months. The overall winner of this was the most lovely Claire Fairman with a nett 60. Congrats Claire and well done. In the 0-20 handicap category the winner was Su Worthington and in the 21-36 handicap category the winner was Jane Bowry. Well done to you all.
The weekday medal took place last week, with the winner being Stuart Gillies, pushing Danny Savage into second place and John Sipson into third. Well done to you all.
Last weekend the Wills Cup took place. The winner was John Griffiths, with Neil Havill in second and Dave Mann in third place. Once again well played boys, great job.
So what's on the way?
- Saturday, 6 May - monthly medal (book online).
- Sunday, 7 May - Epstein Cup qualifier and Mixed Foursomes Supper Evening.
- Tuesday, 9 May - Ladies' Stableford and KitKat qualifier (book online).
- Wednesday, 10 May - PGA Assistants' Qualifier.
I think that's lots to be looking forward to!
Let's move on to Academy info!
On Thursday, 4 May sees us running the first of our three school games events Tri Golf Festivals here at the club. More on this next week, please pray for good weather for us. Nothing worse than having to let 120 children down due to the wet stuff.
We have the medals, the games, the prizes all ready, we just need the weather.
Paul has been asked by the RNIB to provide some coaching for a small group of blind children in the summer months. Andy has already been coaching a lovely little blind girl as part of our Inclusion sessions here at the club and it is because of her mum we have been asked to teach the Actionnaires group. This is really exciting for us as it shows word continues to spread about our work with disabled children and it means we reach more special needs kids who could benefit greatly from our coaching. I will report back from these sessions later in the summer.
Next week sees a video from the boys tackling another aspect of golf for your delectation and I'll be reporting on the festival.
On that note, have a great week,
Caren, Paul, Andy and Nick.
