Hi everyone,
Paul here!
It's been a great few weeks for my Assistant Professional Nick Ramshaw and after a successful playoff at B&C to reach the National PGA Assistants Championship in August at Coxmoor Golf Club, he managed to finish in the top ten at Cumberwell Park with a level par round in the West Region Assistants Sprint. Not only that, Titleist have taken a keen interest in Nick and have now trained him as a 'Specialist Titleist Club Fitter'. No need to go to the National Fitting Centre at Celtic Manor, as we have the knowledge and equipment to fit you for new clubs and even better, we give honest advise and compete with any internet prices.

Myself and Nick are both avid Titleist fans and are keen to spread the message that Titleist isn't just for the low handicapped golfer. Over the past ten years, the brand have changed their message to amateur players and research and produce clubs that can out-perform their competitors.
The key message is control and consistency, which to be honest is what 99% of golfers are looking to achieve when purchasing new golf clubs. Yes, some of the other brands may just have faster club faces and potentially the odd extra yard here or there but is this what we really what to achieve? I think not. If we could hit the ball consistently straighter and consistently the same distance, we would have the control required to reduce our scores. That's where Titleist lead the way in this corner of the market and many players appreciate this and support the brand.
Many companies use driver shafts that are up to an inch and a half longer than a tour player's driver shaft. This of course generates extra club head speed and more distance. When we perform a custom fit on a launch monitor, we can see the increased ball speed and extra distance but the problem is consistency. With the longer shafts, we will hit the ball more offline and often up to 25 yards more offline just by the shaft being three quarters of an inch longer than standard.
The same kind of problem occurs with an iron, with a trampoline type face. When we test the irons on a launch monitor, some of them can gain up to 20 yards from brand to brand which looks and sounds great. The thin fast face springs the ball away with much less backspin giving a huge gain in ball carry but the problem is when it lands the other end. The lack of spin causes the ball to have less control and occasionally we can hit a shot that goes another ten yards, particularly if we get a small amount of moisture or grass between the face and ball at impact. Again, Titleist have this area of the market cornered by producing irons that consistently produce the same type of shot characteristics and consistent spin control.
Titleist have asked us to review their latest irons and we are looking for twelve players to test a full set of clubs and write a short review. All we ask of you is to volunteer to try a set of clubs for eighteen holes. We will adjust the clubs before playing to suit your swing characteristics and provide you with a Titleist Pro V1 golf ball for the front 9 and a Titleist Pro V1X golf ball for the back nine. We then just need you to write a short review on what you felt about the clubs.
We have demonstration everything and will provide you with a Titleist 917 driver, 917 fairway woods and Titleist 816 Hybrids lofts and shafts of your choice. We have three demo sets of irons in stiff shaft flex, regular shaft flex and senior graphite flex and Titleist Vokey wedges to complement each set. Your choice of one of the 10 demonstration Scotty Cameron putters can also be tested. You don't even need to use your own bag, as we have demo Titleist Cart bags and we can even provide a free Motocaddy or Powakaddy electric Trolley for the trial round.
We simply need feedback on the Titleist clubs, no catches, so if you would be willing to take out the clubs for a round please click here and we will reserve the clubs for you.
Have a great week!
Paul, Caren, Andy, Nick and Mary.
