After a dropped shot on the par five ninth by Harry Kennedy and two solid pars by Willem and Finn Ellis, we had a three way tie at the halfway stage. It was now time for someone new to take the reins and a brilliant gross birdie at the tenth by young Finn and just one dropped shot over the next three holes had put him in a comfortable position. Even a brilliant birdie by Tom Sproull at the downhill par three thirteenth surely couldn't apply pressure, he was well out of it, or was he? As the nerves started to kick in and the more difficult valley holes came upon them, the power game of Sproull seemed to be an advantage. Harry Kennedy was hanging on by his nails, just two behind standing on the seventeenth tee. Finn’s lead had slowly depleted and Tom Sproull had parred his way to tie with Finn. |
