Hello Golfers, It's been another busy week at the club, so sit back and read all about it! |
Last weekend saw the March Stableford played with a lovely big field of competitors. The winner of Division one was Allan Slater with 41 points, Joe Shackell second with 40 points and third Rhys Shaw with 39. Division two was won by Neil Havill on 46 points, Mark Pratten second with 45 points and Richard Smale on 39 points.
Well played guys! Well we are almost at the Season Opener, which is a lovely feeling isn’t it?! If you’ve not put your name down, you must get on and do it quickly! There’s both a morning and afternoon shotgun so it should be lots of fun.

It has been a week of deliveries and some new products in store. Over to Paul for his report: |
Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges have arrived! Oh it’s so exciting for us when the brand new stock arrives and much less exciting when the invoice arrives, but the good news is that the SM7 is an absolute cracker. This Spring we have a fantastic line up of beautifully crafted wedges in the Pro Shop. The soft feeling Callaway forged Mack Daddy 4 can add extra spin to your shots with their groove technology. Eating more and more into the wedge market are the PING Glide 2.0 wedges, which gives the player four different grind options. Titleist SM7 offer the largest range of lofts, grinds and bounce options. If all of these options confuses you, you’re not the only one. Book in for a wedge fitting with my Assistant Golf Professional, Nick Ramshaw who is our fully qualified Titleist/Callaway/PING Specialist Wedge Fitter and he will ensure you achieve the best possible options and help you on the way to lowering your scores. |

Do you want certainty when reading putts? If the answer is yes, then book in for the AimPoint Express Course at B&C on Saturday 28th April with Putting Coach, Ollie Leett. Ollie will be holding two small group sessions during the afternoon and each session will last two hours long costing £99. For the number of members who participated a few years ago, the feedback was excellent and I can recommend you will greatly benefit from learning this green reading system. By the end of the two hour session, you will be able to read any putt accurately within just seven seconds. Seeing AimPoint being used by advocates Justin Rose and Adam Scott, I was a complete sceptic and assumed it would be difficult to learn until I did the AimPoint course. Now, I think it’s easy for anyone to learn, is quick to perform and gives incredibly accurate reads on all putts! £400 on a driver or £99 to read all of your putts? I know which one I would go for.

Finally from me, PING’s most forgiving and longest iron has now arrived. PING G700 is here and can be custom fitted by any of the Professional Team. For anyone who doesn’t quite strike it as purely as a club first team player, (that’s including me by the way, I would play them) the G700 iron features a completely hollow head which gives it a high COR. Basically the sweet spot is absolutely massive and the face is like a trampoline from AirHop! This will help the majority of men, lady and senior golfers hit the ball further, higher and straighter. This club will be a huge hit around the world and I would even go as far as saying it’s the best iron ever produced in its category. Give it a try! Click here to request a fitting. |

Thanks Paul. This week I’ve been a busy bee preparing for an XACT health and safety inspection in the near future. I shouldn’t really admit this out loud but I quite enjoy doing it (yes, I’m a bit of a nerd on the quiet! Don’t tell anyone). We have a H&S door in our workshop which is about to get a facelift at long last. At least we should be compliant (fingers crossed!). I have also been choosing the staff uniform for April 1st. Nope not pink, nope not yellow, nope not telling you! You’ll have to wait and see but I think you’re going to like it. On that note, keep healthy and safe! Caren, Paul, Andy, Nick and Luke.

We all look to freshen up our kit when the new season rolls around, but what about the one piece of equipment that houses everything? If you’ve been ignoring broken zips, worn dividers or tatty material, one of these bags could be the upgrade you need... |
