I hope everyone is safe and well?
We are keeping our fingers and toes tightly crossed at the Golf Club, in the hope that we may be able to open the golf course over the next week or so. This disease has been very sadly, unfortunate for some and our thoughts and prayers go out to them at this terrible time. The crisis has had a huge effect on everyone and from my own experience, it has certainly influenced my perspective on life. The negative financial implications are a cause for concern, but in knowing that many thousands of people are also in a similarly compromised position, it has helped to provide me with both a sense of solidarity and some relief. The government financial schemes have been of great help, in particular for Andy and Nick, who are currently furloughed and have asked me to send their very best wishes to all of you. My focus is very much on planning to get back to work and first and for most, the safety for customers and staff. We will be strictly following government guidelines to ensure the Pro Shop is a safe environment. As with all other retail businesses, social distancing procedures will include limiting the number of customers within the shop at any one time. When serving, teaching and custom fitting, we will always ensure safe conduct, as your and our safety are paramount to the continuation of the important service we provide. The Pro Shop currently looks as if a bomb has landed on it. As you can see in the pictures, before the lock down, I covered most of the soft goods, folded and bagged all of the new Spring men's and ladies clothing, to avoid the stock from becoming shop soiled. Dust can settle, light can discolour and hangers can damage the shoulders of clothing. The shop doesn't look too appealing right now but when we do get the green light to open, it shouldn't take too long to clean and present the shop once again. It will be great to catch up and see you all again and hopefully it’ll be soon? We hope our weekly emails are providing you with a little bit of normality in these difficult times.
We’re well into spring now and it’s been great watching the flowers bloom whilst being in lockdown, partly thanks to the beautiful weather we’ve enjoyed over the past few weeks. Golf courses across the country will certainly be taking full advantage after a tough and wet few months prior. Stay safe and enjoy the read. Paul at the team.
