It's about to get interesting

The Northern Trust begins this week, marking the start of the FedEx Cup playoffs on the PGA Tour. The event, held at TPC Boston, will be followed by the BMW Championship before culminating in Atlanta at The Tour Championship. It’s a hell of a payday for the winner ($15 million), as well as a lot of prestige; joining a list of golf’s modern greats.

Justin Thomas has already wrapped-up the $2 million Wyndham Rewards prize for the best regular-season player, with PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa finishing second. Thomas will be hoping to join Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods as the only players to win the FedEx Cup multiple times (both have won it twice), but it won’t be easy.

Putting is a mix of vision and feel...

A golfers hands react to what your eyes see, and that's what influences your stroke. But sometimes your eyes take in too much information and cause your hands to over react.

A good way to improve your eye-hand coordination is to try this three-step routine:

Put a dot on your ball and when you replace it after marking, set the ball so the dot is directly on top.
Imagine a spot on the edge of the hole where the ball should enter, given the putt's break. Focus on that spot. It might help to imagine the hole as a clockface and picture the ball rolling over a number, like 8 o'clock for a left-to-right breaker.
Bring your eyes back to the dot on the ball, and hit the putt while looking at the dot. This should help you focus on a particular point and not let your peripheral vision kick in and cause poor putts

It's great to see

Golf is going through a great period at the moment with lots of people taking the chance to play. One thing you'll notice is the number of golfers using an electric trolley to carry their clubs around the course, so we thought we'd highlight a couple of our favourites in this week's email.
