As it’s getting colder... We need to think about giving our golf equipment an MOT. The first thing you should be considering is what’s on your feet. When it’s wet or icy, certain areas of the course can become treacherous to those with inadequate footwear. There is of course the option of a brand new pair of shoes which we can sell you, but you can also update what is on the bottom of your shoes...spikes! My able assistant Scott has legs akimbo to show you how a new set of spikes should look, clean, undamaged and with all the cleats in good condition. Without this, you are taking a big risk with your safety on the course.
There have been accidents and broken limbs in bad conditions over the years and it’s much safer to get your shoes in order for the winter.

To aid you in preparing your cold weather footwear, we are now offering 10% off a full respike in the Pro Shop. We always recommend swapping your soft spikes to metal spikes to improve your grip and we have a good supply in stock. Pop in today and we can often change your spikes on the spot, if not we will do it by next day. Talking of winter, there are such beautiful boxed Glenmuir sweaters in store at present, merino and lambs wool, cashmere mix, combining warmth and style.
The gift boxes make it look even more special as a gift, and if you talk to me nicely I’ll give it a gift wrap too! We have these wonderful crested sweaters for men and ladies, and they support your club as the logo is proudly displayed on them. Look smart on and off the course!

Oh we're so busy...
Such a lot is happening at present in the academy, including: Paul’s beginner Ladies Group which feeds into affiliate membership; Andy’s Ladies group, me (Caren) preparing new funding reports for the Trust; Scott running Capto Putter fittings using the new and latest technology, Ali playing in tournaments with a view to playing in The Open again and Ebonie out in all weathers picking up balls. We are oh so busy but never too busy for you!
We are also starting a new series of inclusion sessions next week for regular attendees. However, this is also open to new participants, so if you feel you know anyone who would benefit from coming along, please let them know about us and our work. We welcome everyone. Sadly at present we cannot do any special school work due to Covid, but we look forward to being able to run junior festivals and inclusion festivals in the new year. |
