Plenty to update you on...
Since our last newsletter there's been a couple of competition results to update you on. Firstly, the Hare Cup was won with a tremendous 42 points by Joachim Nahmias who, playing off 4, shot a gross round of 68 to win the cup by 5 points from Nick Wilson.
Joachim's round included birdies at the 1st and 8th so he was surely striking the ball well to be giving himself birdie looks on those two holes.
A few dropped shots on the back nine were tidied up on the last with a closing birdie, showing Joachim never stopped trying to score well.
Often when we get in situations on the course where we're under par or under our handicap, it's easy to protect the score you have. I believe you'll succeed more often in these situations if you continue to play the same way with the mindset of shooting the best score possible, not avoiding a bad score. On Sunday, Mary and Michael Parrott prevailed in the mixed greensomes event with a score of 45 points, making them comfortable winners over Claire Fairman and Franco Spallanzani who managed to score 41 points.
Claire and Franco probably thought this was enough to take the honours but Mary and Michael reeled off five consecutive 3 pointers over the closing 5 holes to seal a comfortable win. |
