Well, I was going to say Happy New Year but it’s certainly started off with a whimper rather than a bang!
So we enter lockdown once again but sadly in Tier 5. Inevitably, this means we have to close our Pro Shop doors once again to all of you. However never fear, we are still able to sell golf equipment off the premises in a Click & Collect form. In order to do this, you would need to contact us through our website. We would then contact you to collect payment and again we will contact you when your item has arrived. We can either arrange local delivery of your goods or you can liaise a suitable time to meet and collect from outside the pro shop but sadly not inside as this is not permitted. The New Year’s Cocktail party on zoom went well and was certainly a great alternative as it could not take place as it normally does. We welcome new vice-captain Nigel Pomphrey and we’re excited to work with him.
Good luck to 2021 Club Captain Greg, Ladies Captain Alyson, Seniors' Captain Hugo and Junior Captain Harry in their new roles. I'm very positive that once we get to the Spring we will be able to enjoy a better year than the last and be able to put 2020 behind us. The tickets for our annual Pro Shop draw was drawn by Ladies’ Captain Alyson Matthews (thanks Alyson!). The winner of the first prize was Steve Clarke, who took home a new Powakaddy lithium electric trolley. Well done Steve! The second place prize was a playing lesson which was won by Andy Preisner; Andy Smith won the Motocaddy Cart Bag and Peter J Taylor (there are two Peter Taylors, hence the 'J') won a cashmere Glenmuir crested-jumper. For members who didn't manage to watch the event on Zoom on New Years Day, I won't be repeating the rude joke!
From myself, Caren, Andy and Scott, we do want to reiterate our huge thank you to all of you for such amazing support and we wish you a very Happy New Year! On this note, we hope you all stay safe and if you need anything please get in contact. Caren, Paul, Andy & Scott
