Hey everyone,
It's been another busy week at the club - so here's the latest news:
The course is currently under greens drainage maintenance, and all the poor greenstaff, including Matt and Jim, have been working their little socks off to get the work done whilst the weather remains relatively good. Well done guys, you've done a great job - here's looking forward to a period of regrowth and beautification (not sure that's a word but it's my word!).
Because of this, there have been less competitions and no supplementaries, but it is exciting because the November Stableford is on the way. Please sign up online if you have not already done so. There are also plenty of other competitions coming in November.
This week I have no results to publish - sorry! There will be plenty next week though!
This week sees my lovely assistant Andy fly off to the top of Scotland for a walking break. The rest of us here remain busy and planning for the next year.
Andy has also finally now arrived at potential election to PGA membership. I was asked to prepare something to propose his election, and I realised how much he has crammed into his three years, including gaining his TPI qualification, going on many training and product days, being part of the award winning inclusion work and attending award ceremonies, tri golf festivals and so much more.
I am so proud of him and I look forward to working with him further.
Until Christmas, we are running Junior coaching on Saturday mornings - this was to be trialled on Saturday's. However we have decided to reinstate Sunday's for March 2016. Dates will be on the way soon!
So until the end of the year, we are running Tri Golf, Passport and Skills challenges on 21st and 28th November as well as 5th, 12th and 19th December.
- Tri golf starts at 9am and costs £5 per child - Passport at 10am and costs £4 per child - Skills challenge at 11am which costs £4 per child.
Booking only by email at bristolandcliftonproshop@gmail.com or call us on 01275 393031.
I am now starting to get the Christmas decs up (yes I know our xmas tree is not the best!) and thoughts turn to ideas for gifts. Next week's newsletter will feature a gift ideas collage, so you can see some great ideas for your xmas shopping!
Please don't forget that we do price match - if you can show us a lower price in stock somewhere else, we will match that price!
Over to Paul for his report of the week!
It's been another great week in Turkey for Chris Wood which saw him rise into 13th position in the Race to Dubai. Since the final two rounds at the Dunhill Links Championship he has played some fantastically consistent golf, in fact he's 55 under for the last four tournaments. That's surely Ryder Cup material! Great to see!
Paul Reed and Jimmy Mullen play this week in Stage 2 of European Tour School starting on Friday. Paul Reed is playing at Panoramica Golf and Sport Resort and Jimmy at Campo de Gold El Saler. Approximately 20% of the field at each of the four venues will make it through to Final Stage which starts next Saturday at PGA Catalunya. Good luck to both of them.
You can follow their progress by clicking here.
The Scoring Zone is coming to Bristol and Clifton on Thursday, 3 March at 7pm! Dr Karl Morris will be making his second appearance at the club with his new seminar 'The Scoring Zone', which explores the mental skills required to reduce your handicap.
Tickets are limited and are now on sale in the Pro Shop for £20 each.
I will guarantee you'll enjoy Karl's presentation and learn some brilliant techniques to improve your own performance. Don't miss out!

I have also been impressed with Foremost Golf's Click and Collect service. You can buy from a wider range than even we can stock in our relatively crammed shop and you can have it delivered here! If you have not had chance to see what's available, go on www.foremostgolf.com or click here and have a browse through the massive catalogue of products.
When it comes to paying and choosing shipping options, you can select to have it collected from us, so no queueing for hours getting into town!
Foremost Golf have a great service and a huge selection of all things golf related so if you can't see what you want in the shop, take a look and see if Foremost have it.
Finally I would like to thank Jane Davison for her fab zoo tickets - Cam loves it there. I would also like to thank Nansi for her wonderful cakes.
On that note I wish you all a great week
