Hi Everyone,
The Captain and I had another brilliant match last Sunday against Peter Scott and Peter Bell. We managed to sneak another win at the last hole thanks to a brilliant seven iron from Geoff to just three feet from the hole. Great match chaps and thoroughly enjoyable, win or lose.
I was so excited last weekend as I realised how well the new drainage system is working on the greens. We had a huge amount of rain on Saturday and the putting green, which is usually the wettest, was actually dry. During the Captain Pro Challenge on Sunday, I checked the other greens on the course and was astounded at how well the greens are now draining. Yes okay, there may be a few lines to putt across for the next five months or so but the greens next year will be even better than this year. A credit to all the hard work put in by the Greens Staff.
Jimmy Mullen goes straight into European Tour Final Qualifying at the top of his game after winning Stage 2 at Camp de Golf El Saler. A four round total of sixteen under par saw him lead the ninety man field by four shots. Fantastic stuff!
Now comes final qualifying which is going to be just as tough an examination for Jimmy. 240 players and six rounds at PGA Catalunya with only 25 European Tour cards available means that Jimmy will need to continue his Summer form. It would be absolutely amazing if he did get a card, but there's a long long way to go and at each stage the standard of golf gets higher and higher. Tour School Final stage starts this Saturday.
Paul Reed missed out on qualification by just six shots at Panoramica Golf and Sport Resort, where the top two players scored twenty four under par for the four rounds. Unlucky Paul, I'm sure you'll get there next year.
Karl Morris tickets are starting to sell well, which is great. If you would like a ticket for his brilliant Mind Factor event on Thursday, 3 March, then pop into the Pro Shop and sign up.
Congratulations to Paula Crabtree who was presented at the Team dinner with the Osborne Cup.
Paula attained the most individual points in Division 1 of the Alliance League this year.
For anyone looking for a top of the range FootJoy shoe then this may be for you. I have five pairs of DNA and HyperFlex shoes that I have discounted to clear. They haven't been huge sellers for me, although the Area Sales Representative was gobsmacked when I said I had struggled to sell them, as they have been the top sellers for FootJoy this year.
Looking on the internet they seem to be priced at £129 but I have reduced them to just £99 per pair, and I will also throw in a sleeve of Titleist Pro V1 golf balls for FREE. It's a bargain for a brilliant pair of golf shoes. Come in and get fitted for a pair.

Shop refitWe ordered the rest of the carpet for our mini Pro Shop refit on Monday and I'm now starting to realise how big a task it's going to be. The carpets are being fitted on
Wednesday, 20 January which may cause major disruption in the Pro Shop. We are hoping to remain open throughout but may have problems retrieving certain stock items between 1st and 22nd January. The shop is going to look really good. We haven't spent a fortune but hopefully you will all appreciate the fresh look.
