Hi everyone
I hope you have all had a great week.
Here's this week's round up of results!
The ladies played in their Semi-Texas Scramble last week - the winning team consisting Vicky Reed, Linda Meaton, Eva Tucker and Alison Leatt. Vicky described it as one of those weeks when everything just went according to plan. Great job Ladies! Second place was taken by Angela Holland, Di Ouzman, Lyn Smith and Sue Wilson.
Our very own Pro Shop Stableford took place on a pretty grim, wet and windy Saturday. It did not however deter wonderful winner John Tugman or lovely Mark Walker, who took second place. Congratulations to you both!
This weekend coming sees the Matt Hawker Anniversary Bowl being played - it is fully booked but you can always put yourself down on the waiting list in case anyone withdraws. I am keeping everything crossed for nice weather, Matt you are a good friend to the academy and we hope you have a great day.
This weekend has also seen a group of under 18's come to B&C for their training with Paul as England Golf's AASE squad. Over to Paul for his report!
We had some outstanding talent from the South West at Bristol and Clifton last weekend. I organised a fun packed couple of days which involved short game exercises and pitching tests. We carried out a green reading exercise and discussed how the top players read and map greens which gave the squad some top tips to improve their own green reading.
The squad spent a morning with the England Fitness Coach who put them through their paces covering flexibility, stamina and strength followed by a presentation on nutrition in the clubhouse.
On that note, our very own Strength and Conditioning Coach, Andy McGreevy is organising group classes covering all the necessary areas to get golf fit.

Andy has had some fantastic successes with his clients this year:
He has been working with Sam Matton who is a full time playing Golf Professional and has gained twenty yards in distance off the tee.
Noah Hessey who is a member of Bristol and Clifton finished third in the Gloucestershire County Order of Merit this year after winning the final event of the season at Cotswold Hills.
Andy's reputation as an S&C Coach is growing and is now working with Ebonie Lewis who is one of the up and coming starts of the Ladies County Team. In fact, at the age of fourteen she won the Ladies County Championship. With the help of Andy over the winter, we will be sure to see some improvements, not only in her stamina but her strength.
Andy's individual one to one programs are bespoke and I can highly recommend you guys use him this winter.
