Why Coaching?
As we are specialists in our field, we can coach you to get the best out of your game. Are have many years of experience and a solid staff base, with many of the team coaching over 9 years here at Bristol and Clifton. Our head Pro Paul was coach to Eruropean Tour player Chris Wood for ten years, and also coached current tour player Laurie Canter as well as Chris Lloyd, Mitch Waite and Tyler Hogarty. We specialise in all aspects of the game, and our head assistant professional Andy is TPi qualified with a sports science degree, offering golf specific fitness. If you want to improve your game, you really only need to look to one academy team for all your golfing needs.

Paul Mitchell - Head PGA Golf Professional
Paul came to Bristol & Clifton Golf Club as assistant professional in 1993 at the age of 17. Commencing his PGA training on arrival, he qualified and became Head Professional in 2003. Since starting his career in golf, Paul has gained over 20 years’ teaching experience and is the founder of The Paul Mitchell Golf Academy. For more information on Paul click on the link above.
Matthew Blackman - Assistant Golf Professional
Matt is a passionate golf professional dedicated to helping players of all levels unlock their true potential. With years of experience as a player and as a coach, Matt specialises in developing personalised strategies to refine every aspect of the game. What sets Matt apart is his enthusiasm for the coaching process, whether that’s working with beginners or with seasoned players, with the goals in mind to give each golfer a clear understanding on what to go away and work on and to give each player the tools to lower their score. His teaching style is a blend of technical expertise, modern coaching techniques with an emphasis on building confidence to take to the course.
Scott Bridgeman - PGA Professional
Scott is a seasoned PGA Golf Professional with over 6 years of experience, specializing in coaching golfers of all skill levels. Scott has a passion in helping students improve their game through personalised instruction.He has become renowned at Bristol and Clifton for his putting instruction and enjoys teaching all aspects of the game. His coaching philosophy emphasizes keeping it simple and easy to understand.
