The fairways were buzzing at Wentworth over the weekend when some of the world’s best players arrived for the annual BMW PGA Championship. Sweden’s Alex Norén beat France’s Adrien Saddier in a thrilling playoff come the end of the Sunday.
The lead was being swapped and chased by incredibly talented players all tournament long including the likes of Viktor Hovland and Hideki Matsuyama, but come the end of the Saturday, both Norén and Saddier shared the lead on 15-under-par.
Both players were unable to one-up the other having both made a 4-under card on the final round to end the tournament on a grand total of 19-under-par, forcing a playoff.
On their return to the tee, both players had hit a great tee shot but went for the green on their approach shots, and they both fell to the left of the green. Saddier had a poor lie and overhit the flag while Norén produced a tidy chip to role his ball right next to the hole for a tap-in birdie.
It was Alex Norén’s second BMW PGA Championship win and 12th tour victory. He won for the first time in 7 years at the British Masters just a few weeks ago, and he was certainly happy to have another win this weekend “It feels great to see all the fans here and my caddie and my coach have done a great job. I kind of just trusted the process and it pays off.”

When recently discussing their chances of winning, Captain Keegan Bradley was positive about his team yet admitted they were facing the “best European team ever” while Luke Donald has largely kept quiet.
