Hi everyone

This week, we hear from Head Pro Paul, who has been with his Somerset County squad this weekend. Over to the boss!:

"Last Sunday, I took my Somerset County under-18s squad to play Wiltshire at Chippenham Golf Club. My squad ranges from scratch golfers to 7 handicap players. They played 5 games of foursomes match play in the morning, followed by 10 singles match play in the afternoon.

They battled hard and showed a lot of determination, but struggled with the course, and they sadly didn’t beat the opponent this time. Nevertheless, they were still on cloud 9 from their four-county win a few weeks ago.

Moving on, we have had some gorgeous new Asbri golf Bristol and Clifton accessories arrive in the shop. They are super cool, with the letters B&C on them! For those of us like Paul and myself who have run our academy since 2002 and worked at the club for over 28 years, it’s really interesting to see the modern twist which is moving forward here at the club. My very able model (who doesn’t have the head size or ears for baseball caps!) has agreed to model this for me! We always look to bridge the gap between modern and traditional, as our tradition is very important to us as a club and Academy. But hey, it’s really nice to see a different slant on things!

The new logo towels are also a shiny new example of old and new, and we are here for it!

So it’s been a great week in the Academy, with Ravenswood special school taking up their first inclusion session of the year. Tiny tots improvers and junior coaching is going well, so all I can say is we are enjoying our coaching and look forward to seeing you all soon.
